LG: Coming soon with his flexible and unbreakable OLED display

Tags

LG plans to show this Sunday in Vancouver the flexible and unbreakable OLED display for mobile devices with 5 inches screen.

Although similar news keep coming from Samsung, LG seems to have decided to gain a serious advantage and a faster implementation of new technologies. Samsung was supposed to present its flexible display at the upcoming 6-inch Galaxy S III device, but the company denied this.

One of the biggest problems with today's screens is that they are very easy to break on impact despite the fact that many companies use to protect Corning like Gorilla Glass display. Using the LG plastic OLED displays could mean that they will not shoot in the fall, and there would be no need for costly repairs or replacements.

Another advantage of the new screen is the frame thickness of 1.0 millimeters. It is not known when the new display appears in mass production as well as when we can expect the new phones.

Given that the new display is developed by Samsung, it is expected that the Optimus smartphone will be among the first to benefit from new technologies.
