What Google teaches us about mobile marketing

Google recently organized a conference in San Francisco. The objective of the conference was mobile marketing. It was a great opportunity for some tech enthusiasts to see the big shots of Google. “Googlers” presented their valuable ideas to people. I find some of these strategies very inspiring. At one point you feel as if it’s too much of a cliché but there are important advices for people who are interested in mobile marketing.

nexus 5

Google are also masters of the well timed "leak" and have a habit of creating buzz around their products by revealing snippets of information. Just last week we saw the Nexus 5 appear in the Google Play store only for it to disappear a short while later. Of course it was there long enough for people to grab screenshots and start a wave of speculation. This will give you a good idea of how smartly they go about their business. So any tips they provide must surely be very useful.

These are the seven of the best mobile marketing tips Google presented at the conference.

Customer first policy

Matt Lawson the Director of Search Ads Marketing at Google said that in order to attain a “profitable mindset” you have to deploy the policy of “always being there for the customers.” Lawson says that marketers should use mobile bids to ensure that they are hitting the right people at the right time. The communication between you and your customer is the key – even if he doesn't find it fruitful at first, even if he doesn't leave a feedback, even if the correspondence amounts to nothing in the end, it would still have its benefits.

Make your mobile apps accessible This is more common sense than an incisive policy. If you make your mobile apps difficult to get, people will not buy them. Lay out a platform which is easy for them; easy to buy, easy to download, easy to install.

Use your apps to involve customers in your company

There are more than a million apps on the app store, while there are 0.7 million apps on iTunes. An average smart phone user spends no less than 650 minutes using different apps on his phone. This means that in order to connect with the users the best bet is your apps.

Take extensive measurements and feedbacks

Measuring everything is very important - even if it’s a small thing. When you are making strategies, the measurements and feedbacks help you more than you can imagine. Feedback from the customers is the only way you can know how to improve your product for them.

Make strategies, do mind work instead of “leg work” that can be automated

I found this simple yet brilliant strategy quite compelling. In today’s world almost anything, any kind of work can be automated, then why waste your time in “doing it yourself” when you can use your creativity to make strategies. Strategies get you the market share. Make good strategies, you will get good customer base for your app – it’s as simple as that.

Ensure that the platform, the apps and the user connects well with your business

Matthew Eichner, Director at DoubleClick says that you can only judge the real experience of a customer when you can see everything he is doing with your app. Therefore, he should be able to swiftly use your app while getting a positive image of your business in his mind.

Become familiar with Google ad types

Google is leading with way with some popular offers like click-to-download, mobile sitelinks, call-in app ads and other apps that relate to locations, weather, calls and what not. If you want your mobile marketing campaign to be successful you need to be familiar with Google ad types.

Don't miss: Tumblr share button: How to set from scratch
Neither Yahoo! nor Tumblr would not comment on reports WSJ. But Mayer plans today to held a press conference in New York at which, as published by the company, to discover "something special." Yahoo! is looking for opportunities for acquisitions since Mayer last year took over the position of CEO and pledged to revive the company, which was bowed under the pressure of competition from Google.
Tumblr

Tumblr could be a key strategy for Yahoo! and due to its popularity among younger Internet users. The study, which is being conducted by a group of Internet data collection tumble showed that Tumblr is even more popular than Facebook among users in the age group 13-25 years.

Although Tumblr generates very little money, his arrival in the family and the Yahoo! search engine could provide new sources of revenue from advertising and other services.
